I’ve had a few Timbuk2 bags including a cross-body bag that wore out after 10+ years of service. Got this one hoping it would be a good replacement since it would be large enough to carry an ipad and notebook. The body of the bag was a nice size with two compartments and sturdy zippers. I loved the color (grey) and the red hardware. The fabric was thinner and didn’t seem like it would be as waterproof or soil proof as my other bags from the same vendor. The deal breaker was the strap, which had many downsides. The strap is very wide and distractingly large as a cross-body bag. The stiffness would probably lessen over time but it really rubbed against my neck. Unfortunately it’s short compared to my other cross-body bags - by a lot - and it was not hanging where I like it. I went to swap it for one from another bag but it is attached and stitched into the bag - can’t be removed. Because the ends are sewn on, the comically large pad that’s on the strap can’t be removed either. (The bag isn’t large enough to hold something heavy enough to need that mega wide strap and pad!) In general I really loved the bag and would have happily removed the strap that came with it but that wasn’t going to happen. Unfortunately…I had to return it.
